VAT Associate Director – Leeds or Manchester (Hybrid)
£60,000 – £85,000 DOE. Working with a leading Top 10 Accountancy firm in the North, we are looking to bring an experienced indirect tax professional to join our senior team.
Joining either the Leeds or Manchester office, you will be a key part of the indirect tax team, supporting the current VAT Partners.
Your new role:
A varied position supporting OMBs, Groups, listed businesses and PE–backed businesses with a variety of indirect tax advisory needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide expert advice on a variety of VAT matters and handle specialised technical assignments as needed.
- Prioritise responding to client correspondence and keep both the client and partner updated on the status of VAT work.
- Lead due diligence projects, review the VAT affairs of businesses, and report findings clearly and promptly.
- Stay informed about current VAT issues and opportunities, and actively seek to generate new business from existing and potential clients.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients on VAT queries, ensuring excellent client service at all times.
- Coordinate effectively with other departments.
- Monitor work in progress reports closely to ensure profitable recoverability of work done and timely billing of clients.
- Enhance technical knowledge through relevant reading and courses, and stay aware of the firm\’s services, brochures, and publications.
- Identify, engage, and convert prospective clients, and assist other departments in preparing formal proposals for new work.
- Participate actively in prospective client seminars and follow up effectively with contacts made.
What you\’ll need to be successful:
- A strong background in indirect tax in the UK
- Previous experience working in a practice setting or similar
- VAT Advisory experience
- CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
