The Role As VAT Manager, you'll oversee a portfolio of clients, providing practical and commercially focused VAT advice while ensuring compliance obligations are met.
Key responsibilities include
- Managing a portfolio of VAT clients and acting as their main point of contact
- Reviewing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with current legislation
- Delivering advisory projects across a range of VAT matters
- Advising on partial exemption, land and property transactions, and international VAT issues
- Supporting clients with VAT planning and risk management
- Managing HMRC enquiries, investigations, and VAT audits
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members
- Mentoring and developing colleagues within the VAT team
- Identifying opportunities to expand VAT services across existing clients
- What You'll Need
- ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent qualified
- Strong VAT / indirect tax experience gained within practice or industry
- Excellent technical knowledge of UK VAT legislation
- Experience advising on complex VAT matters including property, international VAT, or partial exemption
- Proven ability to manage client relationships independently
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial mindset with a proactive approach
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members
