Senior Manager, Tax Governance Manchester (2 days per week in office)

Β£70,000 - Β£90,000 + Benefits

I'm currently working with a leading professional services firm in the North who are looking to grow their specialist tax governance business with a new Senior Manager level hire.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead tax governance, risk management, and control framework projects for a portfolio of clients
  • Advise clients on tax risk, governance requirements, and best practice compliance processes
  • Review and improve tax control frameworks, identifying and mitigating key tax risks
  • Manage governance-related compliance requirements, including SAO, CCO, and tax risk reporting obligations
  • Support tax audits, HMRC enquiries, and governance reviews
  • Monitor legislative developments and assess the impact on clients' governance frameworks
  • Prepare and present tax risk assessments and governance reports to senior stakeholders
  • Work closely with finance, tax, legal, and compliance teams to strengthen tax governance processes
  • Lead and develop junior team members, providing technical and project guidance
  • Support business development activities and identify opportunities for additional advisory work

To be successful in this role you'll need:

  • Practice, in-house or HMRC background
  • Previous experience running teams, leading engagements, developing juniors etc
  • Strong tax governance experience
  • This could also be a strong Manager who wants to step up or someone who has a part time role in tax governance wanting to make the move at SM grade.
