We are seeking Indirect Tax Assistant Managers (and Managers) to join our growing team. You will advise on VAT and other indirect tax matters arising on complex real estate transactions and M&A activity, working with large corporates, funds, developers and institutional investors. This is an opportunity to play a meaningful role in building a modern, conflict-free tax advisory firm - shaping workflows and working directly with senior leaders and high-profile clients in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on VAT and indirect tax aspects of real estate acquisitions and disposals
  • Provide structuring advice for property transactions, including TOGC analysis and option to tax considerations
  • Support due diligence processes, identifying indirect tax risks and opportunities
  • Advise on SDLT interaction with VAT in property transactions
  • Structure UK and cross-border real estate investments from an indirect tax perspective
  • Provide input on fund structuring and joint venture arrangements
  • Liaise with legal advisers and transaction teams to ensure tax-efficient implementation
  • Interpret UK VAT legislation and HMRC guidance in the context of complex property structures
  • Lead the firm in adopting technology‑enabled ways of working, championing digital tools that enhance delivery and empower teams
  • Collaborate with international colleagues across the Global network on cross-border real estate transactions
  • Support business development initiatives and proposal preparation within the real estate and M&A market
  • Coach and develop junior team members

Requirements

  • CTA, ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification (or equivalent experience in VAT)
  • Strong UK VAT technical expertise, with exposure to international indirect tax issues
  • Experience advising large or listed businesses on indirect tax matters
  • Understanding of digital reporting developments and evolving VAT compliance requirements
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver high-quality technical advice
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear, practical advice
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing client relationships and junior team members (for Manager/Senior Manager level)
  • A collaborative mindset aligned with our culture
