We are currently working with a leading Top 10 accountancy firm in Scotland who are looking to bring in an experienced Corporate Tax Manager or Senior Manager to their team in Scotland. You'll be working within the national tax service line, supporting a broad range of clients including ownerâmanaged businesses to large multinational groups. Managing a portfolio of clients, you'll handle the compliance cycle whilst also assisting with tax advisory & planning matters. Specialist work includes due diligence, transactions, demergers, restructuring and various forms of innovation relief.
Key responsibilities include:
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships.
- Client Liaison: Communicate with clients throughout the year, ensuring exceptional service.
- Compliance Management: Ensure clients' tax affairs meet statutory requirements and manage compliance tasks efficiently.
- Tax Planning and Advisory: Identify tax planning opportunities and handle specialized technical assignments.
- Assignment Management: Oversee assignments per firm procedures, confirm client arrangements, including costs and billing, and ensure work meets recovery targets.
- Proposal Preparation: Research and assist in preparing proposals for new work, and participate in presentations to potential clients.
- Business Development: Engage in business development activities and client seminars, ensuring effective followâup.
- Interdepartmental Liaison: Coordinate with other departments to identify and address all client needs.
- Specialist Services Knowledge: Develop inâdepth knowledge of the firm's specialist services and undertake special projects as needed.
- Technical Knowledge Maintenance: Stay updated with technical knowledge through reading and courses, fulfilling CPD requirements.
- Staff Management: Act as a line manager, actively participating in staff development, including onâtheâjob training and appraisals.
- Junior Staff Briefing: Brief junior staff on clients and assignment instructions, supervise, and ensure work completion.
- Meeting and Training Attendance: Attend staff meetings and required training sessions.
- Health and Safety Awareness: Maintain awareness of Health and Safety issues and report concerns to the Health and Safety Representative.
What you'll need to be successful:
- Proven UK Corporate Tax compliance experience
- ACA/ACCA/ATT/CTA qualified
- Tax advisory exposure would be useful
- Experience running and managing corporate tax teams
