This is not a role where you will be boxed into repetitive compliance work. You will manage a varied portfolio spanning owner‑managed businesses, international groups, charities and larger corporate clients, while gaining meaningful exposure to advisory work across structuring, transactions, R&D, capital allowances, international tax and more.
The firm is investing heavily in the High Wycombe office and has ambitious growth plans. It already delivers complex work locally, with access to national specialists when needed, meaning you can develop technically without needing to commute into London.
The role
You will join a supportive Corporate Tax team and take responsibility for a varied corporate portfolio, covering both compliance and advisory work. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and review of corporation tax computations
- Managing key return, payment and client deadlines
- Liaising directly with clients and HMRC
- Supporting on tax planning and advisory assignments
- Exposure to international tax, capital allowances, R&D tax relief, transfer pricing, corporate interest restriction, withholding tax and double tax relief
- Supporting transactions, due diligence, acquisitions, disposals and restructuring projects
- Reviewing junior team members’ work and helping support their development
- Building strong, long‑term relationships with clients
Why this role stands out
- £60,000-£65,000 salary
- Hybrid working - only two days per week required in the office
- Flexibility around working patterns, including part‑time arrangements where practical
- A 35‑hour working week, with core hours of 10am to 4pm
- High‑quality, varied work without the typical Big Four lifestyle
- Strong internal progression, mentoring and structured development at Assistant Manager, Senior Manager and Director level
- Scope to develop a specialist area over time, whether that is capital allowances, R&D, international tax, employee rewards or another area of interest
- A collaborative office culture with excellent staff retention and a genuine one‑team feel
- Easy access from High Wycombe station, just a short walk from the office
- 25 days’ annual leave, pension, life assurance, flexible benefits, profit share and discretionary bonus
What they are looking for
This role would suit a Corporate Tax Senior, Assistant Manager or Manager who is looking for more responsibility, broader exposure and a clear long‑term path. You will ideally be ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified, with at least one to two years’ post‑qualified Corporate Tax experience. However, the firm is prepared to be flexible for someone with the right technical grounding, attitude and potential.
You will need:
- Strong UK Corporate Tax knowledge
- Experience preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations
- The confidence to analyse technical queries and provide practical advice
- Good organisation and project management skills
- A client‑focused approach and the ability to build relationships
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues
- A collaborative mindset and a genuine desire to keep learning
