A respected and ambitious accountancy practice in Hampshire is seeking an Audit Partner to join its senior leadership team. This is a high-impact, hands-on role, providing the opportunity to take immediate ownership of an existing audit portfolio focused on owner-managed businesses and SMEs. The position is ideal for an experienced Audit Director or Partner who wants to make a tangible impact from day one, drive client growth, and play a central role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of an existing audit portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery and excellent client service.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships as the main point of contact and adviser.
  • Identify opportunities to grow audit work and support wider business development initiatives.
  • Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with UK auditing standards and internal quality procedures.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the audit team, fostering talent and supporting succession planning.

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • RI status with a recognised UK professional body (e.g. ICAEW or ACCA) with experience at Director or Partner level.
  • Strong technical audit expertise, particularly with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
  • Proven track record in client management, business development, and delivering results.
  • Leadership experience, including managing, mentoring, and developing teams.
  • Commercially astute, proactive, and collaborative, with the drive to contribute to the firm’s growth.
