A growing independent accountancy firm in Camberley is looking for a Senior Private Client Tax Manager to take ownership of a varied personal tax portfolio and play a key role in the continued development of its tax function. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys proper private client tax work, real client relationships and the feeling of being genuinely important to a firm, rather than being one name in a much larger department.
The firm has grown significantly over the last decade and has built a strong reputation for being friendly, practical and team-focused. It is the sort of environment where people support each other, get stuck in and take pride in doing things properly. No corporate nonsense, no hiding behind job titles, and no "that’s not my job" culture.
As Senior Private Client Tax Manager, you will take responsibility for an existing personal tax portfolio, working closely with directors and supporting the wider tax team. The role will include a mixture of compliance oversight, client advisory work, tax planning and relationship management.
- Personal tax portfolio management
- Tax planning for individuals and owner-managed businesses
- Capital gains tax
- Inheritance tax
- Residency advice
- Trusts and trust structuring
- Reviewing and delegating work to junior team members
- Speaking with inbound enquiries and referrals
- Quoting for work and helping convert new opportunities
The firm is open on level and could consider someone stepping up into the role, as well as an established Senior Private Client Tax Manager looking for a better local opportunity. CTA would be helpful, particularly for more technical advisory work, but strong private client tax experience is the most important thing. You might be CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA or qualified by experience, provided you can bring the right practical knowledge and confidence with clients.
This role would suit someone who wants more ownership, more visibility and a sensible working environment. The firm offers one day working from home as standard for qualified staff, with potential flexibility for the right senior-level person. There is also parking available for this role.
If you are an experienced private client tax professional looking for a role closer to home, with genuine responsibility and a firm that still feels human, this is well worth a conversation.
As an employer, we are committed to ensuring the representation of people from all backgrounds regardless of their gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, ethnicity, age, neurodiversity, disability status, or any other aspect which makes them unique. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds to apply and would encourage you to let us know if there are steps we can take to ensure that your recruitment process enables you to present yourself in a way that makes you comfortable.
