Are you a Corporate Tax professional ready to step up into a role with real responsibility, advisory exposure and a clear path to Manager?

We're working with a leading Top 10 firm looking to hire a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager into its growing London team. This is a standout opportunity within a team that is actively expanding, with strong client demand and increasing exposure to project and deals work.

The Role

As a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager, you will manage a varied portfolio of UK and international clients, including owner-managed businesses, larger corporate groups and private equity-backed businesses. This is a genuine step-up role, where you will take ownership of your own clients, manage workstreams from start to finish and act as a trusted adviser on both compliance and advisory matters. You will also gain exposure to higher-value, project-based work including transactions and structuring, giving you a strong platform to progress into Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients
  • Deliver a mix of compliance and advisory work
  • Review work prepared by junior team members
  • Coach and develop junior staff
  • Build strong client relationships and act as a key contact
  • Support advisory projects including transactions and structuring
  • Identify opportunities to add value and improve client outcomes

About You

You'll be a commercially aware Corporate Tax professional who is ready to take on more responsibility and progress your career. You will ideally have:

  • Strong UK corporate tax experience within practice
  • Exposure to both compliance and advisory work
  • Experience reviewing work or mentoring juniors (or ready to step into it)
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • ACA / ACCA / CTA (or working towards)

Attitude is key here. The team is looking for someone proactive, reliable and keen to develop into a future Manager.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Clear and fast-track progression to Manager
  • Opportunity to take on real ownership of clients earlier than most firms
  • Exposure to complex advisory work, not just routine compliance
  • Involvement in project and deals work, particularly with PE-backed clients
  • Work closely with highly experienced, technically strong Partners
  • Opportunity to develop and influence junior team members
  • Exposure to international clients and cross-tax work

Culture & Environment

  • Collaborative, supportive and non-hierarchical culture
  • Strong Partner access and hands-on mentoring
  • Growing team with clear investment and direction
  • Flexible, hybrid working model
  • Focus on development, progression and long-term careers

The Opportunity

This is more than just an Assistant Manager role - it's a chance to accelerate your career in a growing Corporate Tax team. With increasing demand, a broad client base and strong advisory exposure, you'll be in a position to develop quickly, build your client portfolio and step into Manager in the near term. If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely progress, take ownership and work on high-quality Corporate Tax matters within a Top 10 firm, this is an excellent opportunity.
