A leading industrial group based in Derbyshire is seeking a Head of Tax Compliance and Reporting to oversee its UK corporate tax obligations and steer its international tax reporting and forecasting processes. The business has an established global footprint, a reputation for technical innovation, and a strong internal culture of collaboration, transformation, and integrity. You'll join a forward-thinking finance leadership team and report directly to the international tax lead. This role comes with real influence across global functions, responsibility for managing external audits and regulatory relationships, and a mandate to modernise systems and processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and implementing a robust Group-wide tax reporting and forecasting strategy
  • Leading external audit engagements and ensuring high standards of transparency and accuracy in financial disclosures
  • Managing the UK tax compliance function, acting as lead liaison with HMRC, and coordinating SAO and RDEC submissions
  • Overseeing public and jurisdictional tax disclosures, including Pillar 2 and country-by-country reporting
  • Implementing and optimising tax-related systems and processes, introducing automation and efficiency
  • Partnering with the wider business on projects and investments, providing practical commercial tax insight
  • Managing and mentoring a small team of tax professionals, helping to shape a best-in-class tax function

Who We’re Looking For

You’re likely to be a qualified tax professional (ACA/CTA or equivalent) with:

  • Deep expertise in UK corporate tax compliance, forecasting and reporting
  • Experience working within large multinational environments or highly regulated sectors
  • Familiarity with AlphaTax, OneSource or similar platforms
  • A confident, consultative style and the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to balance hands-on delivery with strategic oversight
  • Experience leading and developing a team of tax professionals
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, especially when liaising with non-tax specialists
