I'm working with a Top 20 accountancy and advisory firm that is continuing to invest in the growth of its Capital Allowances team and is now looking to appoint a Capital Allowances Assistant Manager as part of ongoing expansion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with around 2+ years' capital allowances experience who is ready to step into a broader, more hands-on role within a supportive, flexible and high-performing team.

The Opportunity

You'll join a nationally integrated Capital Allowances team, with exposure to the full lifecycle of claims, rather than a narrow delivery-only remit. The role offers real ownership, variety, and the chance to work on complex projects across multiple sectors. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and supporting Capital Allowances claims from site visit through to final report
  • Applying tax legislation to a broad range of property-related expenditure
  • Attending and contributing to site visits
  • Collaborating with colleagues across tax and audit teams nationally
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance and optimise claims
  • Taking ownership of work while contributing ideas to improve processes and delivery

Level Progression

This is an Assistant Manager-level role within a growing team, offering strong exposure and clear progression opportunities. Candidates do not need to be fully qualified - those currently studying are very welcome.

Location Flexibility

Nationwide candidates considered. Fully flexible working - work from anywhere. No requirement to attend the office, including during probation. London-based leadership, but office presence is not mandatory.

Team Culture

The team is fast-paced yet relaxed, approachable and supportive. While timesheets and KPIs are in place, the real emphasis is on:

  • High-quality delivery
  • End-to-end ownership
  • Collaboration over hierarchy
  • Openness to ideas and continuous improvement

This is a trusting, adult culture well-suited to self-motivated professionals.

About You

This role would suit someone with:

  • Circa 2+ years' experience in Capital Allowances
  • Experience in claim preparation and site visits
  • A strong understanding of capital allowances tax legislation
  • Comfort working across the full scope of capital allowances
  • Ideally, the candidate will have a background from Big 4, Top 20 or strong mid-tier firms

Salary Process

Salary from circa £45,000, with flexibility depending on experience. Two-stage interview process, both via MS Teams:

  • Stage 1: Informal discussion focused on experience and fit
  • Stage 2: Technical interview assessing capital allowances knowledge
