An established and growing Top 10 accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join its team in Plymouth. Your role as an Audit Senior:
- Leading audit engagements from planning through to completion.
- Managing audit budgets and monitoring job progress against agreed timelines.
- Reviewing financial statements and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards.
- Assessing internal controls and identifying audit risks.
- Supervising, coaching and developing junior team members.
- Communicating effectively with clients and building strong working relationships.
- Leading audit planning, progress and completion meetings.
- Identifying opportunities to improve audit quality and efficiency.
- Escalating complex technical matters where appropriate.
- Ensuring key findings and recommendations are clearly documented and communicated.
What you'll need to succeed:
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification (or be a finalist).
- Previous experience working within Audit & Assurance in a practice environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, auditing standards and Companies Act requirements.
- Experience leading audits and managing client relationships.
- The ability to assess risk independently and make sound professional judgements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
