I am working with a well-established and growing mid-tier accountancy firm in Milton Keynes to appoint an Audit Partner. This is a senior leadership opportunity within a respected practice that has built a strong regional reputation and continues to expand its audit offering. The role would suit an existing Partner or an experienced Audit Director seeking a step up, taking ownership of a significant audit portfolio primarily made up of owner-managed businesses and SMEs. Alongside client work, you will contribute to the strategic leadership of the firm and support its continued growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a diverse audit portfolio, ensuring high-quality delivery and timely completion of engagements.
  • Act as the primary contact for key clients, building trusted relationships and overseeing service delivery.
  • Drive business development, identifying opportunities and winning new audit and assurance work.
  • Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with UK audit standards and internal quality controls.
  • Mentor and develop the audit team, supporting succession planning and fostering a high-performance culture.
Qualifications/Experience Required
  • RI status with a recognised UK professional body (e.g. ICAEW or ACCA) with experience at Director or Partner level.
  • Strong technical audit knowledge with up-to-date regulatory awareness and a track record of high-quality delivery.
  • Proven ability in business development, client relationship management, and winning new work.
  • Leadership experience, including team management, mentoring, and supporting staff development.
  • Commercially aware, collaborative, and proactive with ambition to contribute to the firm’s growth and strategic success.
