I'm currently working with a leading independent tax consultancy who are looking to strengthen their Manchester office with a new Director hire to lead the team. The firm provides a range of advisory focused services to HNWIs, UHNWIs & Business owners, so naturally looking for someone with a similar type of experience to help grow the offering in Manchester and across the North.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic, commercially focused tax advice to owners of OMBs, aligning planning with both personal and business objectives.
- Advise on business structuring and restructuring, including reorganisations, demergers, and ownership changes.
- Lead tax planning for transactions such as business sales, acquisitions, MBOs/MBIs, investment rounds, and succession.
- Deliver integrated shareholder and personal tax planning across income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.
- Develop tax efficient cash extraction, remuneration, pension, and profit retention strategies.
- Design and implement management and employee incentive schemes, including EMI and growth share arrangements.
- Identify tax risks, implement mitigation strategies, and support clients with HMRC enquiries or disputes.
- Build and maintain strong long term relationships with business owners, acting as their lead strategic tax adviser.
- Contribute to business development, pitches, and thought leadership within the OMB market.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development support to junior tax advisers.
What you'll need to be successful
- Suitably qualified (ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA)
- An experienced Director or Senior Manager with experience advising business owners, HNWIs or UHNWIs
- Well networked in Manchester and the Northern market
- Experience running & managing a tax department
