Personal Tax Director Manchester + Hybrid working £80,000 - £110,000 + Benefits

I'm currently working with a leading professional services in Greater Manchester who are looking to bring in a new Personal Tax Director to run & manage their personal tax compliance business.

The firm you will be joining are a well established Top 20 Accountancy firm with several offices across the North West.

You'll be leading the delivery, development and overall management of the tax compliance business.

You can based at several of the North West offices, with 3-4 days per week spent in their Bolton office.

Responsibilities include

  • Lead the delivery of personal tax compliance services across a substantial client portfolio.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to HNWIs, directors, partners, and owner-managed businesses.
  • Review complex self-assessment tax returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
  • Manage and develop a team of tax professionals, providing mentorship and technical guidance.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and work alongside advisory teams where appropriate.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Monitor legislative changes and ensure the team remains up to date with tax developments.
  • Oversee workflow, resource planning, and quality control processes.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Suitable tax qualified with UK tax practice experience
  • Extensive personal tax compliance experience
  • Experience running & managing a personal tax compliance team
  • You'll need to be a confident with AI, technology and be forward thinking with compliance processes
  • Ideally you'll be someone who is a Senior Manager wanting to take a step up to director, or a director who wants more ownership in their role.
