A leading tax consultancy is looking to bring in a strong Corporate Tax Director to lead their compliance business across the UK from their new Manchester office. This is a unique opportunity to build and shape a corporate tax compliance function at an early stage with a firm that operates differently to a traditional accountancy firm.
Your new role:
- Lead corporate tax compliance across relevant jurisdictions, ensuring accurate and timely filings
- Oversee tax reporting, including current and deferred tax under applicable accounting standards
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impacts on the business
- Manage relationships with tax authorities, including audits, enquiries, and correspondence
- Own the tax compliance calendar and ensure deadlines are met
- Review and approve tax computations, returns, and related disclosures
- Partner with finance, legal, and business teams to embed tax compliance into operations
- Oversee transfer pricing compliance and related documentation
- Manage external tax advisors and ensure quality and cost effectiveness
- Identify and manage tax compliance risks, escalating issues as appropriate
- Drive improvements in tax processes, controls, and use of systems
- Lead and develop the tax compliance team and support broader tax initiatives
What do you need to be successful:
- Strong UK Tax compliance experience having run and managed a corporate tax compliance team.
- Suitable tax qualification (CTA, ACA, ACCA)
- Ideally you'll be a strong Corporate Tax Director working in practice or someone who is returning from an in-house position wanting something a little different.
- Excellent people leadership skills and experience, having built and developed teams in the past.
