Private Companies Tax Associate Director – Big 4 Firm London / Cambridge. Hybrid working. Salary £80,000 – £100,000 plus £6,700 cash allowance and bonus.

About the Role

Lead client relationships and manage complex corporate tax projects for privately owned, founder‑led, family‑owned, PE‑backed and high‑growth businesses. The role includes advisory and compliance matters across key stages of business life‑cycle such as organic growth, international expansion, acquisitions, refinancings, restructurings, carve‑outs, disposals, PE investment, trade sales and IPO readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising privately owned, founder‑led, family‑owned, PE‑backed and high‑growth businesses across a broad range of advisory and compliance matters.
  • Managing client relationships, delivering complex corporate tax projects, identifying advisory opportunities and supporting team growth.
  • Providing technical advice on international expansion, due diligence, acquisition and post‑acquisition structuring, exit planning, group reorganisations, refinancings, corporate simplification and tax reporting.
  • Co‑ordinating input from wider tax specialists (VAT, employment taxes, incentives, international tax and other areas) to deliver joined‑up advice.
  • Developing junior team members, supporting business development and working closely with Partners and Directors across the wider private business tax network.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong UK corporate tax experience in compliance, advisory, transactions or a mixed role.
  • Experience with privately owned, owner‑managed, family‑owned, PE‑backed or entrepreneurial businesses.
  • Commercially minded with confidence in leading client relationships and managing senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and teams at once.
  • CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
