Our client, a Top 15 accountancy firm, is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join their specialist Non‐Profit team in London. You will be joining a collaborative and highly respected team, working closely with Partners and Directors to deliver audit, accounting, and advisory services to a broad portfolio of non‐profit clients including charities, education providers, and membership organisations. This is a senior leadership role offering significant client ownership, team management responsibility, and strategic involvement within the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a substantial portfolio of non‐profit clients including charities, schools, academies, membership bodies, and other organisations.
  • Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of audits from planning through to completion, ensuring quality, deadlines, and budgets are achieved.
  • Review audit files, statutory accounts, and technical work to a consistently high standard.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Audit Seniors, Supervisors, and Assistant Managers within the team.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building trusted long‐term relationships with senior stakeholders including Finance Directors, Trustees, and Governors.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts under FRS102 and IFRS.
  • Present audit findings, recommendations, and reports to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Support Partners with portfolio management, strategic client delivery, and business development initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory and compliance services to clients.
  • Contribute to proposals, tenders, networking events, and wider firm initiatives within the Not‐for‐Profit sector.
  • Assist with technical training, team development, and continuous improvement across the department.
  • Support ad hoc advisory projects including benchmarking, governance reviews, management reporting, and sector‐specific assignments.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Strong audit experience gained within practice, including managing client portfolios and leading audit teams.
  • Proven experience working with non‐profit organisations such as charities, education providers, or similar sectors.
  • Technically strong across audit and accounting standards including FRS102 and IFRS.
  • Confident communicator with experience engaging senior stakeholders and presenting recommendations.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop teams.
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities, capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions‐focused approach.
  • Experience using systems such as CCH, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar is advantageous but not essential.
