A growing accountancy practice is looking for an experienced Personal Tax Senior to join its team near Leighton Buzzard. This is primarily a personal tax compliance role, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys taking ownership of a portfolio, dealing directly with clients and managing work through from start to finish. Advisory experience is welcomed, but it isn't essential.
The Role
- You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of personal tax clients, with duties including:
- Preparing and submitting Self Assessment tax returns
- Managing your own portfolio and ensuring deadlines are met
- Dealing directly with clients and responding to tax queries
- Liaising with HMRC where required
- Reviewing client information and identifying issues requiring further attention
- Supporting the wider tax team during busy periods
- Getting involved in personal tax advisory work where your experience allows
What They’re Looking For
- You'll need to have UK personal tax experience gained within an accountancy practice and be comfortable handling compliance work with a good degree of independence. Ideally, you'll have:
- Strong personal tax compliance experience
- Experience preparing Self Assessment tax returns
- Confidence managing your own workload and deadlines
- Good client-facing and communication skills
- Experience dealing with HMRC
- ATT qualification or progress towards ATT/CTA would be beneficial, but isn't essential
- Personal tax advisory experience would be a bonus rather than a requirement
