We are working with a leading professional services firm in Newcastle who are looking for an indirect tax senior manager or associate director to join their growing indirect tax function.

Your new role:

  • Be part of a regional and national indirect tax team, supporting regional growth across the North.
  • Provide VAT compliance and advisory services to a wide range of OMBs and larger corporate clients across the UK.
  • Act as a trusted adviser, managing and deepening client relationships, engaging beyond tax matters on commercial and strategic issues.
  • Serve as the go‑to contact for clients, identifying opportunities to add value and expand the portfolio through proactive advice and insight.
  • Lead staff development – conduct appraisals, give regular performance feedback, deliver hands‑on training to junior team members.
  • Contribute to business growth on the practice development side by leveraging professional network to generate new opportunities and drive cross‑referrals across service lines.
  • Ensure all compliance procedures are rigorously followed, aligning with HMRC and professional institute standards, maintaining the highest levels of quality and integrity in client service.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Solid VAT/Indirect Tax experience in a professional services firm in the UK.
  • Suitably qualified ACA, ACCA, ATT, CTA or qualified by experience.
  • Experience with indirect tax advisory.
  • Previous experience managing and running indirect tax teams.
