As a Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a varied client portfolio, delivering predominantly advisory work alongside review responsibilities. This is a truly advisory‑led position, with corporate tax compliance handled by the audit team and personal tax work prepared by junior staff, allowing you to focus on high‑value client engagement and technical work. You will work closely with Partners and senior leadership, providing commercial tax advice while developing long‑term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of private clients, owner‑managed businesses and corporate clients
- Delivering advisory work across areas such as CGT, IHT, EIS, R&D and structuring
- Reviewing personal and corporate tax returns prepared by junior team members
- Acting as a trusted adviser and key point of contact for clients
- Supporting business development and identifying opportunities within your portfolio
- Mentoring and developing junior staff
- Liaising directly with Partners on complex and strategic matters
About You
- You’ll be a commercially aware and technically strong tax professional who enjoys working closely with clients and delivering advisory‑led solutions.
- CTA qualified or equivalent with strong UK tax experience
- Experience managing client portfolios within practice
- Strong exposure to advisory work across personal and corporate tax
- Ability to provide practical, commercially focused advice
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
