Your new role
As a VAT Senior Manager, you’ll lead on complex advisory projects, manage high‑value clients, and help shape the future direction of the VAT offering in Scotland. You’ll work closely with Partners on business development, lead strategic client discussions, and oversee the delivery of technically excellent solutions—while mentoring a growing team of VAT professionals.
Key responsibilities
- Leading on VAT advisory projects across multiple sectors including property, manufacturing, and not‑for‑profit
- Managing a portfolio of key clients and overseeing compliance and advisory delivery
- Providing strategic VAT advice on transactions, restructures, and cross‑border operations
- Supporting business development through client proposals, tenders, and networking
- Managing, coaching, and developing Managers and Assistant Managers
- Driving quality, technical accuracy, and process improvement across the VAT function
Success criteria
- CTA or equivalent qualification (ACA, ACCA, or ex‑HMRC background also considered)
- Extensive experience within VAT, ideally from a practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of UK and EU VAT legislation
- Proven track record in leading advisory work and managing teams
- Excellent communication skills and commercial awareness
