The Opportunity

Our client is a leading Top 10 Accountancy and Business Advisory firm with a strong national presence and an excellent reputation within the mid-market. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong tax professional who enjoys managing client relationships, overseeing complex compliance work, supporting advisory projects and mentoring junior team members.

The Role

As a Corporate Tax Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality compliance and advisory services while supporting the continued growth of the tax practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of corporate tax clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to larger corporate groups.
  • Reviewing complex corporation tax computations and returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK tax legislation.
  • Leading and supporting corporate tax advisory assignments, including tax planning projects and technical research.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Working closely with audit and accounts teams to ensure an efficient and seamless client service.
  • Attending client meetings, pre-year-end planning meetings and completion meetings.
  • Managing work in progress, monitoring recoverability and ensuring timely billing.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior members of the tax team.
  • Supporting recruitment, training and development initiatives within the department.
  • Identifying opportunities to provide additional services and contributing to business development activities, proposals and fee discussions.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax legislation and communicating relevant developments to clients and colleagues.

About You

  • Significant corporate tax experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporation tax compliance and advisory matters.
  • Experience reviewing complex corporate tax returns and group structures.
  • Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring or managing junior staff.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for additional client services.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
