Client Manager - Aylesbury - £60,000 to £70,000
If you're already managing client relationships but feel like you're still waiting for someone to give you genuine ownership, this could be the opportunity to change that.
This is a broad general practice role where you'll take responsibility for a portfolio of clients, oversee the delivery of their accounts and tax work, and play an important role in developing the team around you.
The emphasis isn't on unnecessarily complex technical work. They need someone dependable who can manage clients, people, deadlines and workflow effectively.
The Role
- Managing a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses
- Acting as the main point of contact for your clients
- Overseeing the preparation of statutory accounts
- Reviewing corporation tax returns and other compliance work
- Reviewing work completed by Seniors and Semi-Seniors
- Managing deadlines and ensuring work progresses efficiently through the team
- Coaching and developing junior members of staff
- Handling more technical or challenging client queries
- Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and advice to clients
- Working closely with the Accounts Director and wider senior management team
- Helping maintain strong client relationships and high service standards
There is plenty of scope to make the position your own and become a key member of the general practice team.
What They're Looking For
- ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent experience
- Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience managing your own portfolio of clients
- Good knowledge of statutory accounts and corporation tax
- Experience reviewing work prepared by other members of the team
- Confidence managing and developing junior staff
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
- The ability to manage a busy workload and keep multiple jobs moving
Above all, they're looking for someone who can be trusted to take responsibility for a portfolio and get things done.
What's On Offer?
- £60,000 to £70,000 depending on experience
- Genuine responsibility for your own client portfolio
- Clear opportunities for further progression
- Broad general practice exposure
- Ongoing training and professional development
- Generous holiday allowance
- Death in service benefit
