Accounts Senior - Pitstone - £50,000 to £55,000
If you're an experienced practice accountant who enjoys the variety of general practice but wants more ownership of your clients and responsibility within the team, this could be a very good next step.
I'm recruiting an Accounts Senior for a growing accountancy practice in Pitstone.
You'll work with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, combining accounts and tax work with direct client contact and responsibility for supporting more junior members of the team.
- What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for limited companies and sole traders
- Working with FRS 102, FRS 105 and UK GAAP
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax returns
- Supporting clients with personal tax and VAT matters where appropriate
- Reviewing work completed by junior accountants
- Coaching and developing less experienced members of the team
- Building strong relationships with clients and dealing with queries directly
- Providing practical accounting and business advice
- Supporting the wider management of client portfolios
- Working closely with senior management on the delivery of work across the team
There's a good amount of variety here.
The role isn't designed for someone who simply wants to prepare accounts all day - they're looking for somebody who can become a dependable senior member of the team.
What They're Looking For
You'll ideally have
- Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice
- ACA/ACCA qualification, or be approaching qualification
- Good statutory accounts preparation experience
- Corporation tax knowledge
- Experience dealing directly with clients
- Confidence reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues
- The ability to manage your own workload and multiple deadlines
Experience with Xero, Quick Books and Sage would also be useful.
