About the Opportunity:
ProTalent are currently working with a well‑established and highly successful Payroll Bureau to recruit an Outsourcing Senior with a strong background in payroll to join their friendly team in Uckfield. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while working in a supportive, professional environment with excellent career prospects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of payroll clients (weekly, fortnightly, monthly).
- Full end‑to‑end payroll processing, including data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Reconcile payrolls to client data and ensure client approval before issuing final reports and payslips.
- Prepare payroll journals and reconcile PAYE figures weekly and monthly.
- Produce BACS files for payment submission.
- Administer Pension Auto‑Enrolment and ensure timely submissions to The Pensions Regulator.
- Upload pension contributions and changes to provider platforms.
- Handle all payroll‑related queries from clients and HMRC confidently and professionally.
Skills & Experience
- Strong numeracy and accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
- Thorough knowledge of PAYE, NI, statutory payments, and pension rules.
- Confident in manual payroll calculations and explaining figures to clients.
- Solid understanding of auto‑enrolment and pension scheme reporting.
- Proven experience working under pressure in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Intermediate Excel and competent across Microsoft Office.
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with excellent client service skills.
