ProTalent are working on behalf of a long-established and highly respected firm of Chartered Accountants in Brighton & Hove who are looking to strengthen their growing team with the addition of a Senior or Semi-Senior Accountant. The Role
- You will take on a varied and client-facing role, ensuring high standards of service and compliance. Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, annual accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, VAT, and management reports.
- Building strong relationships with clients, providing advice, and supporting them with their accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
- Supervising and mentoring junior accountants and trainees, reviewing their work and supporting their professional development.
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and the latest tax legislation.
- Staying up to date with regulatory changes and adapting processes as required.
- Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and enhance client service.
About You
The ideal candidate will be technically strong, client-focused, and eager to develop their career within a supportive environment. You will bring:
- AAT/ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified status.
- At least 2 years experience in practice, with a solid grounding in accounts preparation, bookkeeping, VAT, and tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax compliance.
- Experience with accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and good Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly to clients.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach.
Benefits
- Salary: GBP26,500 - GBP32,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
