Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with statutory duties
  • Manage a varied caseload, prioritising risk, safeguarding, and positive outcomes
  • Carry out visits, direct work, and interventions with service users and families
  • Make clear, proportionate, and evidence-based decisions
  • Prepare accurate reports for reviews, meetings, and court (where applicable)
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners
  • Maintain timely, high-quality case records using council IT systems
  • Ensure all practice aligns with legislation, council policies, and professional standards

Requirements

Essential:

  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree / DipSW / CQSW)
  • Social Work England registration
  • Recent UK social work experience
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and recording skills
  • Right to work in the UK

Desirable:

  • Local authority experience
  • Experience within Children’s Services or Adult Social Care
  • Court work or complex case experience
  • Familiarity with systems such as Liquidlogic or Mosaic
