Pro Staff Construction are working with a residential developer who is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to strengthen their pre-construction team. This is a key commercial role, responsible for producing accurate and robust cost plans and tender estimates, supporting margin protection, risk management, and a smooth transition from pre-construction through to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Preparing order of cost estimates, elemental cost plans and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and employer's requirements
- Producing detailed estimates, BOQs and cost checks
- Analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotations for compliance and value
- Identifying scope gaps, risks, exclusions and non-compliances
- Supporting value engineering and margin optimisation
- Preparing risk and opportunity schedules
- Providing clear commercial handovers from pre-construction to delivery
- Maintaining accurate and auditable estimating records
Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment
- Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement and market pricing
- Experience with cost planning (RIBA Stages 1-3) and tender estimating
- Strong commercial awareness with a risk-based mindset
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
