Pro Staff Construction is working with a growing construction contractor that is looking to hire a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator based in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and expanding business, working across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects, including works for local authorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements
- Pricing works and preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Obtaining and evaluating quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
- Assisting with procurement and commercial management of projects
- Monitoring project costs and supporting financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying and/or Estimating role within the construction industry
- Strong understanding of tendering, pricing, and cost management
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness with a keen eye for detail
