A Senior Practitioner within the Safeguarding Team manages a more complex caseload of children, providing enhanced autonomy in decision‑making and case progression. The role includes assessment writing, threshold application, home visits, direct work, care planning, chairing meetings, and case recording in line with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Regular assessment writing, threshold application, home visits, direct work, care planning, chairing meetings and case recording
  • Direct supervision of student social workers and/or ASYEs
  • Support learning and development within the team
  • Lead peer supervision and deputise for the Team Leader within the sub‑team
  • Access the Practice Educator Programme to enhance professional development
