Advanced Practitioner – Family Safeguarding Team (Permanent)

Pro Social Partners are proud to be working in partnership with Lambeth Council to recruit an experienced Advanced Practitioner into their Family Safeguarding Team within Children’s Social Care. Lambeth is recognised for its commitment to relationship-based, strengths-led practice, with Family Safeguarding at the core of its approach to supporting children and families safely. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner to influence practice quality, mentor social workers, and support positive outcomes for children at risk.
The Role
- Hold a small, complex caseload while maintaining a strong focus on practice leadership.
- Provide high-quality case direction, professional guidance and reflective support to Social Workers.
- Support and quality‑assure assessments, plans and interventions to ensure strong, child‑focused decision‑making.
- Lead on complex safeguarding and child protection cases, including strategy discussions and multi‑agency planning.
- Model excellent relationship‑based and trauma‑informed practice across the team.
- Work closely with Team Managers to drive practice improvement and consistency.
- Support learning and development within the team through mentoring, coaching and peer reflection.
About You
- You will be a confident and experienced practitioner with:
- A recognised Social Work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
- Significant post‑qualifying experience within Children’s Social Care, ideally within safeguarding or Family Safeguarding services.
- Strong knowledge of statutory child protection frameworks and multi‑agency working.
- Excellent analytical, leadership and communication skills.
- A clear commitment to high-quality, relationship‑based practice and professional standards.
- Proven experience of supporting and developing other social workers.
