About North Star Children's Homes: North Star runs four small, therapeutic children's homes across Surrey and Berkshire, supporting young people with EBD, CSE, CCE and mental health needs. Tanglewood and Virginia House operate with Team Leads. Ascot and our fourth home operate with Senior RSWs. Both roles share the same level of responsibility and pay.

The role: You will be the senior practitioner on shift, mentoring the RSW team, leading on day to day care planning, supporting the Deputy Manager, and acting as a key point of stability for the young people. You will model trauma informed practice, lead handovers, and own keyworker responsibilities.

You will need (essential):

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children Young People (must hold)
  • Either 3 years experience working with children in residential care, OR 1 year in a Senior RSW or Team Lead role
  • A track record of leading shifts and supervising junior staff
  • Strong safeguarding and risk management instincts
  • Right to work in the UK

Hours, shifts and holiday: 40 hours per week, 240 hours holiday per year. Mixed shifts: 07:30 to 22:00.
