The Not‐for‐Profit sector is experiencing significant growth and increasing complexity, creating strong demand for experienced audit professionals with specialist charity expertise. A leading accountancy and advisory firm is seeking a Senior Audit Manager to join its established Not‐for‐Profit team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious ACA or ACCA qualified professional to take ownership of a portfolio of complex and high‐profile charity and nonprofit clients while playing a key role in team leadership, client development and business growth.

What you will be doing as an NFP Senior Audit Manager:

  • Lead the delivery of audit and advisory services to a portfolio of large and complex Not‐for‐Profit organisations, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders including Trustees, Governors, Finance Directors and Executive Leadership Teams.
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of large and complex nonprofit and charity clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, long‐term client relationships.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing practical and strategic advice.
  • Support clients on governance, risk and financial reporting matters.
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience while identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and expand services.
  • Lead audit and accounts assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Oversee engagement planning, budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Ensure assignments are delivered efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
  • Monitor engagement progress and proactively resolve issues.
  • Review audit files and financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Lead, mentor and develop Audit Managers, Assistant Managers and trainees.
  • Create a collaborative, high‐performing team culture.

What you will need to succeed as an NFP Senior Audit Manager:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience within Not‐for‐Profit audit.
  • Proven track record managing complex client portfolios and leading large engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
  • Excellent technical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience advising senior stakeholders including Boards, Trustees and Executive Teams.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‐building skills.
  • Commercially aware with a genuine interest in business development.
  • Proactive, strategic and solutions‐focused approach.
