Excellent opportunity for progression to Assistant Manager. We are working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice to recruit an experienced Audit and Accounts Senior. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with 4-5 years of experience who is either newly qualified or nearing ACA or ACCA qualification, looking to advance their career towards an Assistant Manager position.
The Audit and Accounts Senior Role:
- The position is a balanced mix of 50% audit and 50% accounts work.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with audits currently managed by the existing Audit Senior/Assistant Manager
- Preparing accounts from trial balance and reviewing VAT returns
- Supporting fieldwork with assistance from three junior team members
- Working closely with the Practice Manager and Audit and Accounts Manager
- Providing technical support on complex group consolidations and financial reporting
The Independent Firm:
The firm conducts approximately 35 audits across a diverse client base, including IT / Software, Charities, Construction, Entertainment, Music, and Service Charge. Client turnovers typically range from £2 million to £20 million. Accounts are prepared in line with FRS102 and FRS102 1A. The firm uses MyWorkPapers for audit and Iris for accounts production. Minimal travel is required, with the furthest client based in North London.
The Team:
The successful candidate will join a team of 20 staff, including:
- A Tax Partner and an Audit Partner
- An experienced Audit Senior/Assistant Manager (focusing on audits and complex accounts)
- Three junior team members supporting fieldwork
- A mix of tax, administration, company secretarial, and internal finance professionals
The team comprises a blend of ACCA trainees, AAT-qualified staff, and experienced QBE professionals, offering a supportive and collaborative working environment.

- Hybrid working - three days in the office and two days from home

Candidate Profile:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
