For the largest and most exciting transport projects in Europe, we are recruiting a Senior Cost Manager to support the Head of Cost at a Programme and Contract level. Sitting in the Central Costs function, this key role will support the Cost alignment with Finance with uWBS implementation, quarterly forecasts, monthly updates and systemising the new business requirements.
The Senior Cost Manager will lead on the management of budgets, actual costs, forecasts, and Earned Value Management (EVM) to support the successful delivery of the organisation and is part of the PMO directorate which includes Baseline Maintenance, Schedule Management, Cost Performance, Change Management and Performance Reporting.
Main Duties:
- Lead on the analysis and verification of programme and area level cost performance
- Lead on the validation of cost performance data submitted by delivery teams to communicate overall programme performance to Project Controls and PMO
- Lead on resolving system technical queries for the delivery teams, including 3rd Party income Accounts, EVM, Inflation /Deflation
- Support the Cost Directorate alignment with Finance with the uWBS implementation, quarterly forecasts, monthly updates for Indirect and other portfolios
- Lead on systemising the new business requirements, test and implement them in the cost management and interfacing functions
- Leading the continuous improvement of Cost Performance function, ensuring lessons learnt are captured and presented back and implemented
- Support the Head of Cost Performance in the management of the Cost Management team
- Ensure adherence with cost performance processes and procedures
- Partner the Areas to develop defined work-streams to enhance cost performance capabilities
Person Specification:
- Experience in the management of Cost and Performance and project Controls within a major project
- Experience of WBS Cost Systems, implementation, and the integration of reporting
- Experience of cost management systems including Prism, Contruent or Ecosys
- Experience in core project controls including baseline maintenance, schedule management, cost performance, change management, risk management, performance reporting etc
- Experience in managing and producing performance reports that summarise cost performance including Budgets, Earned Value Management (EVM) and forecasts on major projects
- Knowledge of Project Controls and Cost processes
- Knowledge of NEC contracts, amendments, early warning notices and the workflows between contractor and client and their benefits to the client organisation
- Knowledge of Project Controls, baseline development and maintenance of baselines on a major programme
