Pro-Pak Foods is looking for an experienced Stores & Despatch Manager to join our management team on a fixed-term contract for 3–6 months. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished warehouse and logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can quickly make a positive impact. Leading a team of 4 Supervisors, 5 Team Leaders and approximately 30 colleagues, you'll take ownership of our Goods In, Stores and Despatch operations, ensuring they continue to perform safely, efficiently and effectively during a key period for the business.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading the day-to-day operation of the Goods In, Stores and Despatch departments.
- Providing strong leadership, coaching and support to Supervisors, Team Leaders and colleagues.
- Driving operational performance through effective KPI management and continuous improvement.
- Ensuring all processes are controlled, compliant and aligned with business objectives.
- Championing health, safety and environmental standards across the department.
- Working closely with production, planning and external logistics partners to maintain excellent service levels.
- Managing stock accuracy and inventory control while minimising waste and write-offs.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and embed best practice.
- Supporting change initiatives and maintaining high standards throughout the contract period.
What we're looking for:
- You'll be an experienced operations or warehouse leader with the confidence to make an immediate contribution.
- Strong experience in warehouse, logistics, goods in, despatch and stock control within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing third-party logistics providers.
- A proven track record of leading and developing successful teams.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using KPIs and operational data to drive improvements.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Experience implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
- A hands-on, adaptable leadership style with the ability to build credibility quickly.
- Availability to start within 1–2 weeks.
