Responsibilities
- Support the Head of SHE in day‑to‑day duties and communicate with directors, senior managers and staff about Health and Safety Act obligations.
- Promote best practice in health, safety and environment across all employees, contractors and visitors.
- Develop and implement health and safety performance systems and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and apply control measures.
- Manage and review emergency procedures, first aid facilities, safety signs, PPE and equipment.
- Monitor health and safety practices and report gaps.
- Complete weekly departmental checks and monthly site audits.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near‑misses, and other safety-related events.
- Consult and communicate any health and safety matters with employees.
- Support delivery of health, safety and environmental initiatives on site.
Qualifications
- Positive work attitude and good IT literacy skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience in risk assessment and knowledge of MAC, ART, and RAPP.
- Experience in a health and safety role with working knowledge of UK safety, health and environmental law.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent preferred.
