Pro-Pak Foods in Malton is looking for a Goods In and Despatch Manager to join our management team. Your team will include four supervisors, 5 team leaders with a wider team of circa 30. We are looking for a person with strong warehouse, logistics and planning experience. This role will provide an exciting challenge as we seek to continue to drive our business forward. We are looking for someone who is adaptable to change, can move at pace and lead their team positively to make sure our Despatch, Goods In and Stores department is performing effectively and efficiently as we grow.
Key accountabilities of our Goods In and Despatch Manager will include:
- Providing leadership and support in ensuring the delivery of all functional demands and ensuring the functional processes and procedures are appropriately controlled.
- Creating and maintaining an innovative environment that encourages colleague participation in raising the standards of quality, teamwork and communication.
- Providing leadership and direction to ensure that, within the department, people are engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their full potential.
- Championing health and safety on site ensuring that a safe working environment exists for all colleagues and that, as a minimum, the department meets the standards set out in relevant health, safety and environmental policies.
- Displaying commercial awareness and implementing proven cost reduction measures on site. All areas of cost reduction to be investigated, including product costings, waste, yields and labour spend.
- Monitoring departmental KPIs and challenging the team to deliver improvements when required to ensure targets are achieved and bettered.
- Working closely with internal and external customers to maintain business and customer service needs.
- Taking ownership and management of day-to-day stock systems, minimising raw material and packaging material write off.
Skills and experience required to be our new Despatch and Stores Manager:
- Strong supply chain management experience including logistics, goods in, stock control and the management of third party logistics.
- Experience of implementing and measuring KPIs and driving best practice.
- Data savvy, working with numbers is an everyday occurrence.
- Strong organisation skills.
- Evidence of management experience.
- Proven experience of change implementation where manufacturing standards are improved using lean methodology linked to delivery of a quality-based culture.
- Experience of coaching and mentoring a team to deliver results.
