The Senior Power BI Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced Power BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making across the organisation. This role requires strong expertise in data modelling, DAX, and visualisation best practices, as well as the ability to collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to facilitate the translation of business requirements into actionable insights. This is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role split between working from home and one of our UK offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development
- Build and optimise interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Develop robust data models using Power BI and related technologies.
- Implement advanced DAX calculations for complex business logic.
- Data Management
- Connect to various data sources (SQL Server, Azure, APIs, etc.).
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security within Power BI solutions.
- Optimise performance of datasets and reports.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with business teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Provide training and support for Power BI users across the organisation.
- Governance & Best Practices
- Establish and maintain Power BI governance standards.
- Document processes, data models, and solutions for future reference.
Required Skills & Experience
- Technical Expertise
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
- Strong understanding of data modelling and relational databases.
- Experience with SQL and writing complex queries.
- Familiarity with Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, etc.) is a plus.
- Professional Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in BI development, with at least 3 years in Power BI.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise-level BI solutions.
- Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior developers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or similar certifications.
- Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
