Pro currently has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Paralegal to join the newly formed Pro Legal team. The post holder will undertake a variety of tasks which support the more senior members of the team handling litigated disease and illness/non-recent abuse claims. Pro currently has UK office locations in London, Glasgow, Gloucester, Horsham and Liverpool and operates a flexible working policy with regard to location and remote working. The post holder may be required to travel between these locations when necessary.
Main Responsibilities
- Open new claims in the case management system, ensuring accurate data entry and file setup.
- File and serve court documents.
- Diarise court orders and hearing dates.
- Monitor incoming post and emails, ensuring timely distribution and actioning.
- Assist fee earners with document collation, scanning and uploading to digital case.
- Deal with the registration of CRU and updating CRU where appropriate.
- Arrange any medico-legal appointments and audiogram appointments.
- Book counsel for hearings and conferences.
- Collate trial bundles and instructions to counsel and expert witnesses.
- Draft summaries of medical and employment records.
- Arrange payments.
- Delivery of agreed performance targets.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- Interested in the Noise, Disease and Abuse sector of litigated law.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
