Pro Insurance currently has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Claims Technician to join our Casualty Claims Team. Pro operates a hybrid working model and the majority of this role will be working from home with regular travel to one of our local ELPL hub in Glasgow, Liverpool or Horsham on a weekly basis and other locations when required.
Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Senior Claims Technician (Casualty Claims) will manage a reduced caseload (circa 75% target allocation) of technically complex and/or high-value live market Employers Liability (“EL”) and Public Liability (“PL”) personal injury and non-latent claims of a “short-tail” nature.
Responsibilities
- Managing all diaries and post within the agreed SLAs
- Liaising with solicitors and brokers
- Developing effective business relationships internally and externally
- Maintain accurate records for auditing and regulatory purposes
- Identifying potential fraud
- The post holder will act as a referral point to internal colleagues providing technical guidance and advice in line with licence
- Provide technical advice and guidance to external clients
- Proactively support the team in their achievements and overall business objectives
- Enhance the ability of the team to perform through contribution to structured training plans, undertaking QA/QC and providing regular coaching and feedback to the team
- Contribute to projects relevant to the sub vertical
- Strengthen Client Relationships
- Represent Pro in a Professional manner to both peer and potential marketplace acquaintances.
Skills and experience
- Strong technical background relating to EL/PL personal injury, non-latent and short tail disease claims. Experience of other claim types a distinct advantage.
- Good Policy interpretation skills.
- Ability to work towards Service Level Agreements.
- Effective communication and key stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Knowledge of claims handling Pre-Action Protocols, court procedures, quality assurance, fraud and impacting legislation in respect of own business unit or discipline at a level which enables the provision of strategic decision making and direction.
- Strong relationship building skills and a professional and approachable manner.
