Responsibilities
- Design and run scalable, automated data pipelines that transform raw data into high-quality, analytics- and ML-ready datasets.
- Optimise and automate data pipelines and integrations, applying AI-driven automation where it adds real value in partnership with business stakeholders.
- Design and deliver business-ready data models and datasets, building end-to-end solutions across data modelling (DWH/Lakehouse), ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Own the day-to-day health of data pipelines, quickly resolving issues, strengthening monitoring and alerts, and proactively preventing failures before they happen.
- Continuously improve data pipeline and data flow performance, optimising loads, queries and reports while tracking reliability against SLAs and sharing insights with stakeholders.
- Support and enhance data governance processes, embedding automation and AI across areas such as data archiving, masking, versioning and security to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with architects, application teams and developers to deliver well-tested, low-impact releases, supporting robust CI/CD processes that meet data governance and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Experience designing and delivering data solutions in complex cloud and on-prem environments.
- Strong data engineering skills, including advanced SQL, data modelling and data warehousing.
- Hands-on experience with modern data integration tools such as Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
- Proven ability to integrate data with BI platforms and work across technical and business teams.
- Exposure to AI/ML initiatives, with an understanding of practical LLM use cases in data workflows.
- A proactive self-starter who takes ownership and delivers end-to-end solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, turning business needs into effective data solutions.
- Clear communicator, comfortable working in Agile, DevOps-led and international teams.
