The Role:
We are looking for a highly detail-focused Inspector / Machinist to support inspection and CNC machining processes, ensuring all products meet strict medical and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections
- Complete DIR reports and OGP scanning
- Use precision measuring equipment (callipers, verniers, micrometers)
- Record results accurately in Excel and internal systems
- Reject and quarantine non-conforming product
- Set, load, and operate CNC machines
- Verify parts against engineering drawings and tolerances
- Complete route cards, inspection sheets, and traceability documentation
- Escalate quality or machine issues promptly
- Support Lean, 5S, and EHS initiatives
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in CNC machining and/or inspection
- Strong ability to use measurement tools (verniers, callipers, micrometres)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & GD&T
- Experience working to tight tolerances
- Good working knowledge of quality control processes
- Competent in Microsoft Excel and basic IT systems
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience within medical device, aerospace, or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with OGP / CMM inspection equipment
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 or similar quality standards
- Previous experience with traceability and batch control
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
- Apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
