We are currently seeking a Gearbox Technician to join our clients experienced team in Sheffield. This role involves the removal and refitting of manual and automatic gearboxes and final drive systems. If experienced, you will also carry out vehicle diagnostics using industry-standard tools and your own expertise to identify faults and solutions.
Location: Sheffield
Salary: 40 to 45k DOE
Job Type: Full-Time, permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities:
- Removing and refitting transmissions and drive train systems
- Performing diagnostic checks and road tests
- Preparing the workshop each morning and securing vehicles at close
- Maintaining a clean and organised work space
- Liaising with the office and workshop team
- Accurately following job sheets and instructions
Criteria:
- Previous experience of working as a Drive Train Fitter - preferred but not essential
- Experience as a Semi-Skilled Vehicle Mechanic - Minimum 5 years essential
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
- Able to work independently and safely with minimal supervision
- Good communication and listening skills
- Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
- Must own a set of tools
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and interpret fault codes (especially for automatic systems)
- Excellent attention to detail and safety
- Physically able to handle heavy vehicle components
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential
