We are currently looking to recruit an experienced Gearbox Builder to join our clients busy transmission workshop. This is a highly skilled, hands-on role ideal for someone with in-depth knowledge of gearbox internals and a passion for mechanical precision.

Responsibilities:
- Strip down, diagnose faults, rebuild, and reassemble manual and automatic transmissions to the highest standards.
- Disassemble manual and/or automatic gearboxes and inspect components.
- Diagnose internal faults and identify worn or damaged parts.
- Clean, rebuild, and reassemble gearboxes to factory or improved standards.
- Use appropriate tools, torque settings, and lubricants.
- Maintain detailed records of each build and parts used.
- Work collaboratively with fitters and office staff to ensure smooth job flow.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment.
Criteria:
- Proven experience building manual and/or automatic gearboxes - essential.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and diagnostic ability.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for quality of work.
- Must own your own tools.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
