We are looking for an experienced Commercial Account Executive to join our team and play a key role in managing and developing our commercial insurance portfolio. • Funding for relevant CII qualifications and ongoing professional development

THE OPPORTUNITY

You will inherit an established portfolio of commercial insurance clients generating approximately £300,000-£400,000 in annual brokerage commission income. Your focus will be on protecting and developing this portfolio, strengthening existing relationships, maximising retention and identifying opportunities to increase income through additional cover and new business opportunities. You'll also benefit from introductions and referrals from company directors, existing clients and established business relationships, alongside marketing and prospecting support. This is not a role where you'll be expected to generate every opportunity independently.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop an established portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring excellent levels of service and retention.
  • Conduct regular client reviews to understand changing business requirements and identify opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for additional cover, cross-selling and increasing account revenue.
  • Develop new business opportunities through referrals, networking and relationship building.
  • Work closely with internal account handlers, claims handlers and commercial placement specialists.
  • Liaise with insurers to negotiate competitive terms and ensure suitable cover is secured.
  • Oversee renewals, re-broking exercises and client presentations.
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the commercial insurance portfolio.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in a Commercial Account Executive or similar client-facing commercial insurance role.
  • A strong understanding of commercial insurance products and the wider insurance market.
  • Experience managing and retaining an established client portfolio.
  • A track record of developing client relationships and identifying revenue growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive and commercially minded approach.
  • The ability to work independently, manage your own diary and take ownership of your accounts.
  • Cert CII qualification or working towards it would be advantageous.

WHY JOIN?

You'll be joining an established business with an experienced in-house team, specialist placement expertise and a supportive working environment. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio, the backing of an experienced team and the opportunity to directly influence the growth of the business. With an established client portfolio from day one and a transparent performance-related bonus structure, this is an opportunity to combine the security of a competitive basic salary with genuine earning potential and long-term career development. If you're an experienced Commercial Account Executive looking for a role where you can make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
