Our client is a well‑established and growing engineering business operating within the specialist machinery sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their workshop team in Mansfield. The Role
Working within a busy workshop environment, you’ll be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and rebuild of heavy machinery and associated equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strip down, inspect, overhaul, and rebuild heavy plant machinery
- Diagnose and repair faults on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
- Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs to a high standard
- Utilise diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge to optimise machinery performance
- Ensure all work complies with company quality and safety standards
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience working on heavy plant machinery, diesel engines, hydraulics, or similar equipment
- NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Land‑Based Engineering, HGV Mechanics, or equivalent
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own tools preferred
- Right to work in the UK
