Role Overview

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating cutting and drilling machinery within a busy production environment. You will work to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring all components are produced accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate saws and drilling machines safely and efficiently
  • Accurately measure, cut, and drill materials to specification
  • Read and follow technical drawings and job instructions
  • Conduct basic machine checks and report any faults or defects
  • Ensure all work meets quality and production standards
  • Adhere strictly to health & safety regulations at all times
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
  • Meet daily production targets while maintaining accuracy

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience operating industrial saws and drilling machines
  • CNC machine operating experience
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Ability to accurately use measuring tools (tape measures, callipers, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Good understanding of health & safety procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to long-term work
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with wood or panel-based materials
  • Knowledge of basic machine maintenance
  • Experience working to production schedules or KPIs
