As QC Manager you are responsible for managing the Quality Control function throughout the packhouse, ensuring that the QC teams complete pre-start checks, quality assessment(including weight checks), label control and specified audits.
You will ensure that company due diligence procedures are correctly followed, and non-compliance are recorded, actioned and followed up and that the food safety, quality and legality of the end products are maintained.
You will also identify training and development requirements within the QC teams, ensuring that all necessary training is completed within agreed timescales.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure suitable QC cover throughout the Packhouse working alongside the senior QC manager
- Carry out random quality checks on packed and wasted fruit
- Conduct internal audits, including product traceability audits and ensure corrective actions are completed within suitable timescales.
- Ensure smooth handovers between shifts.
- Ensure all QC checks are completed and non-compliance are reported to the relevant management.
- Monitor departmental costs by reducing unnecessary overtime, excess staffing, wastage and equipment misuse.
- Liaise with planning and operations regarding staffing forecasts.
- Ensure service levels remain above 99.9% and meet customers expectation
- Monitor customer complaints and investigate complaints and depot rejections.
- Report investigation findings and corrective actions to management.
- Maintain and develop QMS and SOP documentation alongside technical management and the senior QC manager.
- Ensure the team understand BRC, Food Safety and Production Integrity standards.
- Ensure departmental cleaning schedules and hygiene checklist are completed daily.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety throughout the workplace.

Pay Rates:
Skilled QC Manager: Standard hourly rate: £18.02 per hour
Overtime rate: £22.53 per hour (Paid after 48hours)
Assistant QC Manager / QC Manger (Limited Skill Set)
Standard hourly Rate; £16.87 per hour
Overtime rate: £21.09 per hour (paid after 48 Hours)
